Our stonemasonry service has served the South East of England from our base in Tunbridge Wells for over 28 years providing specialist stonework conservation and quinquennial inspections.

With considerable work alongside Churches in the Rochester Diocese our business continues to grow, winning several awards for conservation works in the Tunbridge Wells area, including a range of private building and restoration projects.

Through a distinctive consultative approach with clients, we are continually looking to expand their conservation knowledge of lime mortars and restoration techniques, in order to build stonemasonry understanding among the Diocese Churches. Our precise work has led to us working alongside leading Architects, Contractors, Surveyors and Structural Engineers in conservation, across Grade 1 and Grade 2 listed Churches, mansions and schools.

Working alongside Rochester, Chichester and Southwark Dioceses, we have been involved in extending many Church buildings, schools and council buildings. In the last 12 months we have carried out major restoration at St. Johns Church Tunbridge Wells on the bell tower and St. Luke’s Church Chiddingstone with replacement of bath stone copings on the west roof elevation.

With all stonework conservation, it is extremely important to use the best available materials and lime mortars. Where scaffolding is required, erection and dismantling will be supervised by Southern Stone Ltd in order to ensure no damage to the Church/ project.
